The sun is vital as it gives us light, warmth and well-being. However, sun exposure is also a major risk factor for the health of the skin, as well as the UV rays can be really harmful, causing a lot of problems, from sunburn to skin cancer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This summer, use the following 10 tips to protect your skin in the best way and to enjoy the sun safely.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. Avoid exposure to the sun from 11.00 am to 16.00 pm.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Apply the correct amount of sunscreen (at least two tbsp) 20 minutes before sun exposure in order to be fully absorbed by the skin.<\/li>\r\n
  3. Refresh your sunscreen every two hours and after swimming, toweling, or perspiring.<\/li>\r\n
  4. Choose sunscreen is water-resistant for better protection.<\/li>\r\n
  5. Always check the SPF of the sunscreen as well as the labelling of protection against UVA radiation, before you buy it.<\/li>\r\n
  6. Choose the right sunscreen for you, taking into account the skin type and the needs of your skin.<\/li>\r\n
  7. For dry skin, choose a sunscreen that deeply hydrates your skin.<\/li>\r\n
  8. For oily, acne prone skin, you can choose a sunscreen with a light texture and a sebum regulating action that gives a matte finish to your skin.<\/li>\r\n
  9. If you have mature skin, choose a sunscreen with a strong anti-oxidant and moisturizing effect.<\/li>\r\n
  10. Infants and children have more sensitive skin and need to be protected effectively from the sun. Use a hat and a t-shirt and apply a sunscreen product with an SPF of at least 30.
